Hamilton Hills Neighborhood
Citizens On Patrol (COP) Info & Schedule
Check out the Northeast Citizens On Patrol Website for details about why to patrol, what you would do on the patrol, and other details. Most communities in the city have an operating COP.
The Northeast COP serves as the eyes and ears of the community. As residents of Hamilton, we sometimes know our neighborhood and who should or shouldn’t be here better than the police. We don't approach people, but directly interact with the police to help them serve the community better. COP runs out of the Northeast Police District on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Summertime is busy for the COP as more people are out and about and we can keep watch for and report to the Northeast Police District individuals hanging out at closed businesses, individuals or groups hanging out in places where they shouldn’t be, apparent illegal activities, etc. While Hamilton is not a dangerous area, individuals look for neighborhoods where people have become complacent to target for crimes. The Hamilton COP is looking for volunteers who are willing to drive or accompany a driver during the COP nights once every month or so. As a resident of Hamilton, you would be patrolling the Hamilton neighborhood and keeping an eye on our neighborhood. This is a good opportunity to get to know the nooks and crannies of the neighborhood, see the interesting and diverse architecture in the neighborhood and work with your neighbors to keep Hamilton a great place to live!
Contact the Hamilton Hills COP via e-mail if you want to volunteer for COP in Hamilton.
